Branded Reusable Face Mask?

Promotional branding of face masks has become a common feature in workplaces, businesses, schools, and many other business organizations.

The use of face masks is not currently recommended worldwide, as it has now become a legal requirement in most regions. With millions of people having to follow their local government to wear masks daily, many companies and organizations are seeking a sustainable promotional solution while keeping everyone safe.

As a result, the demand for customized reusable face masks has increased considerably. To date, more and more business organisations are opting to brand their mask with their corporate branding.

Traditionally, companies and organizations have improved their brand identity through customizable merchandise, including T-shirts, hoodies, journal books, pens, caps, bags, raincoats, mugs, and the like. Due to the pandemic, companies are now seizing upon the opportunity to further promote their brand with a customised face mask.

They realized it's time to leverage the benefits of these custom printed face masks to raise brand awareness and make the most of this free advertising space while still complying with best practice and public health regulations.

When a company’s staff wear their new custom face masks, they become a natural representative of the brand at all times both during and outside of working hours.

What is the safest standard of reusable Face Mask?

A well-made reusable Face Mask should offer good levels of bacterial filtration whilst remaining breathable and comfortable to wear. A higher-end reusable face mask may also an added layer of protection in the form of an antiviral textile finish applied to the outer material.

A protective face mask should consist of at least 3 layers for optimum levels of filtration efficiencies: the outer layers are usually cotton or cotton-blend and the inner layers are made from non-woven materials which offer increased levels of filtration – eg polypropylene or meltblown.

"At Uniformal, our masks are manufactured in-house in Dublin factory in compliance with the SWiFT-19 standard. Our 4-layer masks made of soft cotton blend fabric and two built-in non-woven filtration layer with an adjustable nose bridge. The masks are reusable and machine washable (60°C)” said Barry McCabe, co-director from Uniformal.

Polygiene ViralOff

Polygiene ViralOff is a treatment for textiles and other products that reduces tested viruses by 99% in two hours.

Polygiene once started in the care segment during the fight against SARS in 2004. This technology consists of applying an antiviral treatment (silver chloride) on the outer layer of textiles and other products (such as masks and gloves) to reduce viruses by 99% within 2 hours. It conforms to ISO18184:2019 and is proved efficient in laboratories against Influenza A (H1N1 & H3N2), Coronavirus/Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2), and Hepatitis. After 20-30 washes, the effectiveness will begin to reduce. However, as our Unifomal ViralOff treated masks and gloves are self-sanitizing, they will only require occasional machine washing. Comfort and Protection

Reusable masks are highly favoured over disposable thanks to their comfort and cost savings. They offer increased levels of breathability; therefore, they are suitable for people with respiratory issues. This type of mask is also more suitable for sports players due to its more comfortable fit. These masks are more structured, and the materials are softer and smoother and more comfortable on the skin. Branded face masks make people feel protected, and at the same time, help promote your organizations corporate brand.

Why should I get a KN95 Face Mask?

KN95 masks (also known as KN95 Respirators) are a type of filtering facepiece respirator that are commonly made and used in China.

KN95 masks may be preferable in some situations or for some people – especially for situations that require prolonged close contact with people who do not live in the same household, or for people who are at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

What to look for:

  • Look for KN95 masks that meet requirements similar to those set by CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for respirators.

Features:

  • Often have ear loops that fit behind the ears. However, some available options have head straps.

  • Note: Do NOT wear KN95 masks with exhalation valves since they allow respiratory droplets containing the virus to escape.

Pros: Filter up to 95% of particles in the air (when they meet the right requirements and are not counterfeit/fake, and when proper fit can be achieved).

Cons: Can be uncomfortable; designed for one-time use; many counterfeit (fake) KN95 masks are commercially available, and sometimes it is hard to tell if they meet the right requirements just by looking at them. At least 60% of the KN95 masks evaluated by NIOSH did not meet the requirements that they claim to meet.

'WORK DOESN'T STOP, IT CARRIES ON AT HOME' - UNIFORMAL.IE

IN 2016, Chiara and Barry, who have two daughters aged 22 and 15, took their workwear firm global.

A year later, with the support of their Local Enterprise Office, they opened a design studio and factory, increasing their staff from three to 20 and turnover by over 500 per cent.

Chiara said: “We became friends at 13 and got together at 17. I was attracted to Barry because he was very confident for his age and a bit wild!
“I was lecturing in UCD at age 23, which gave me a lot of time off during summer, Christmas and the Easter holidays. So in order to spend time with Barry I helped him with his uniform business and we realised that we worked very well together.

“We really support each other in difficult times and all the responsibility doesn’t fall on one person.

“One example was very recently we had to make some very big decisions because of Covid-19. As we supply uniforms to the hospitality, corporate and Government sectors, we have now found ourselves with less demand for our products.

“We decided to produce antibacterial reusable face masks and to concentrate on Personal Protection Equipment in response to Government and HSE appeals.

“It’s been great to have someone whose agenda aligns completely to get difficult decisions over the line quickly.

“It can be hard, though, because work doesn’t stop. It carries on at home every evening and through the weekend and holidays. We are always thinking of new ideas and strategies.

“I also run another business and have my home and children to look after, so I’ve sometimes thought about letting something go, but I am too committed to both businesses and my family!

“My advice would be to get into business with your partner if you genuinely like spending enormous amounts of time together.

“Make agreements from the start about very clearly defined roles, because these can sometimes blur and cause problems. And use the available supports out there to making starting out easier.”
