sustainability
Sustainability is all about ensuring that our actions don’t have a destructive effect on the environment. That means to do actions in order to reduce pollution, waste (materials as well as water) and preserve the biosphere (not over-harvesting or contributing to animal extinction). Therefore, we cannot deny it is an important matter in the fashion industry, and we all must do our bit to ensure we are positively contributing to the environment.
At Uniformal, we are aiming to do all we can for the environment to ensure the world is a better place for future generations.
To reduce water and energy consumption, we offer a wide range of Irish linen, vintage denim and sustainable cotton fabrics in a variety of colours to choose from.
We also have a range of face masks and gloves that carry the principles to reduce water and energy consumption thanks to Polygiene Technology ViralOff.
This technology consists of applying an antiviral treatment on the outer layer of textiles and other products to reduce viruses by 99% within 2 hours. It conforms to ISO18184:2019 and is proved efficient in laboratories against Influenza A (H1N1 & H3N2), Coronavirus/Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2), and Hepatitis.
In addition, our leather is a by-product of the meat industry sourced from Italy.
Besides, our packagings are made from recycled cardboard. We also reduced our use of plastic, by incorporating a new band style packaging for our aprons, made of recycled cardboard too. Therefore, it keeps the rolled aprons in place and protected in transit without the use of plastic.
Practical, sustainable solutions are essential to preserving our future.
